Second - My friend Matt & I are working on an idea for a podcast. What's the best route for domain name purchase & hosting?
Third - My photography sucks balls lately. I need to work on it.
In that respect, I've created some goals.
First, I'm starting year 3 of my Picture-A-Day project. I started back in 2007 after getting my PowerShot for Christmas from Jess. =)
Second, I want to restart my Plastic 52 project this week. I just need to find a good toy to use. Perhaps I'll run down to a specialty shop this weekend & find a good subject.
Third, I'm going to finish 365 Year 2 & contemplate starting Year 3 come March.
Fourth, I want to upgrade to a better camera sometime soon.
Fifth, I want to get back into my 100 Strangers project. I've only shot 4 people so far, and I believe it's because I feel awkward trying to explain the project to people while holding a tiny point & shoot. *laugh* I know that sounds weird, but I feel less weird when I'm holding a bigger "more professional looking" camera.
And finally, actually finding what I enjoy shooting. That's my biggest goal... Find what speaks to me and try to let it speak to you through my pictures. =)

Day 5 - Tuesday, December 16th: Carey coming in and saying he heard the station on at a Les Schwab and that I'm doing an awesome job scheduling music. Finishing up enough work to be able to leave by 6. Dinner with the roommate. New adventures.
However, this story does not involve the 358 directly.
I get off of the bus at Galer, then take the foot bridge over Aurora and over to Dexter, where I walk to work. This morning, I'm crossing the bridge, looking at the cool apartment building that I wish I could afford to live in called "The Nautica", and I see him.
Middle-aged gentleman, sitting in his apartment on the edge of a bed, or perhaps in a chair, but right up against the glass of a floor to ceiling window. Naked. Masturbating.
I laugh and quickly look away, but he's seen me now, and seems to be encouraged by my apparent embarrassment. Out of the corner of my eye, I can see motion, fast & furious.
I quickly descended the stairs & got the hell out of eyesight.
*laugh*
Voting Complete!
This is the first time I've not voted via absentee ballot, and I'm really excited.
Time to head to the polls & stand in line!! WOO!!
"It's pathetic that Hollywood has beaten me down to a point that just this accurate recreation of the costume has given me a huge jump in expectations for the project. The act of simply not completely fucking something up should not be as laudable as it is."
My boss Jeff has taken a PD gig in Denver for a network of Christian stations, and I was promoted to his position.
After working here for close to 4 years I'm happy to say that I'm no longer an "assistant". =D
Instructions:
Take a picture of yourself right now.
Don't change your clothes, don't fix your hair - just take a picture.
Post that picture with NO editing.
Post these instructions with the picture.
This one wasn't such a strech for me, seeing as how I do the 365Days thing...
We have successfully completed one kissing picture per week for an entire year!!! =D
It may have been raining, but I'm happy that I was with the love of my life. =)
Montine shot this before our very first D&D adventure with Steve, Rachel, John & Sean. =)
POE: You descend down the dark, shadowed stairs into a crypt. The smell of rat feces is pungent and the floors are covered with the bones of small animals whose species you cannot identify…
UGLYDOG: I want to look at the bones and see if I can chew on one!
POE: You trigger a trap and a the skeleton of an ogre rises from the ground. Abima, it’s your turn.
ABIMA: sighs. I want to stab him with my sword.
ICE BAT: You have to roll to see if you hit him.
ABIMA: I’m standing right next to him! What do you mean I ‘have to see if I hit him’?”
POE: It’s part of the game.
ABIMA: This is dumb. rolls his 20-sided die. 18.
POE: Plus your modifiers…that makes it 25. You hit.
ABIMA: OF course I hit! I’m standing RIGHT NEXT TO HIM!
UGLYDOG: Roll to see how much damage you do!
ABIMA: I’M STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO HIM! rolls his 4-sided die. 1.
POE: You graze him, but it’s a hit.
ABIMA: I graze him? I GRAZE him???!!! I'm standing RIGHT NEXT TO HIM! This game is stupid.
MOXY: Whoa! You guys are NERDS!
It's Wednesday, and I'm starting the first of a weekly check in on my journal here.
This morning before my shower, I weighed myself. 255 lbs. (255.2 to be exact.) I've been pretty consistent at this weight. I was 258 when we started going to the gym back in January, and it's July now and I haven't gone up or down.
I'm going to start taking the Paul McKenna eating method to heart. When I'm hungry, eat. Eat slowly, consciously. As soon as I feel full, stop.
I'm going to take the Alwin Cosgrove "Afterburn" workout method to heart. Weight training first to get my muscles all calorie burny, THEN do my cardio.
I think I can do it. I just really need to cut back on the beer & the eating out. Still, as long as I can stick to the eating & the workout plan, I think I should be fine. Just gotta lose the belly.
(Also, I think this is my 5th "I'm gonna lose weight DAY 1" post on LJ so far. At least I didn't post pictures this time...)

I am happy to report that I've introduced my pal Adam to a wonderful song by The Beatles. =)
We had an assignment in our "photography class" over at Flickr, and he shot his Uglies. =D
I'm listening to the song now and I adore the picture, so I wanted to share it with you.
I wish I could tell her every day how much she means to me. =)

We went to see Indy 4 at the Majestic Bay last night. It was awesome, don't let anyone tell you any different. =D
I have to say, the Majestic has quickly become my favorite theater in town. Not only is it just around the corner, but it's the ONLY locally owned theater in the Seattle area. The owner was there last night & talked to the crowd before the movie started. He gave us a quick history of the theater & explained their philosophy. He made sure to point out that you will never see a commercial before a movie & that they strive to keep the best shows playing year round.
I can't wait to go for the midnight show of The Dark Knight... =D
I spent all of Saturday at the Emerald City Comic Con with the Garrison and my friend Danny, who we recruited to be our official photographer.
We were doing a charity fund raiser for the Children's Therapy Center in Kent. We asked for a suggested donation of $5.00 per picture, and we raised $2,100, which was matched by a third party, giving the CTC a total of $4,200 for the weekend.
This was my favorite picture of the day. My pal Steve (
hocfutue) running away with my Mini-Vader. =P
Go see it, and stay until the end of the credits.
Would you like a $50 gift certificate (or two $25 gift certificates) for a mere $25.00??
Then please do let me turn you on to Half Jack.
Okay, enough with the bullshit sales pitch. We've got a bunch of certificates left over for a couple of really good restaurants, and I wanted to let everyone know.

Divine - Modern Greek food at 80th & Roosevelt. Montine & I went the other night and had a GREAT meal. The Kobe steak is amazing. (You get two $25 certs for $25, and you can only use one at a time.)

Amber - Neat little bar & restaurant down on 1st & Blanchard. They've got a great Happy Hour! Montine & I really liked the Kobe Burger & their drink menu was awesome. We're planning on getting a few of these & going often! =D (This one you get one $50 cert for $25. We had a great meal, drinks & dessert, and only had to pay $20 out of pocket with tip.)
There are a bunch more, but these are the only two I've actually been too... if you click on either of them, you'll see the full list on the left side of the page. =)
And if you DO get one to Amber, let me know & we'll go to happy hour! =D
This weekend was my first NWC in almost 5 years. I had a pretty good time manning the table & hanging out with friends I haven't seen in a while. =)

This is the first character reveal from next August's G.I. Joe movie — the mute, faceless, black-clad ninja commando, among the most famous of the good guys from the 1980s incarnation of the decades-old Hasbro toy line. His chief nemesis is arguably the world's other great ninja, Storm Shadow. The two grew up together, were blood brothers and now are mortal enemies.
Channing Tatum (Step Up) plays all-American team leader Duke.
Rachel Nichols (Alias) plays the crossbow-wielding Scarlett.
Marlon Wayans is paratrooper Ripcord
Dennis Quaid is the commander, Hawk.
Sienna Miller plays the raven-haired Baroness
Christopher Eccleston is Destro, the arms dealer who hides behind a silver mask
Joseph Gordon-Levitt (3rd Rock From the Sun, Brick) plays multiple roles, including the Cobra Commander.
